Harding Academy announces the unveiling of the newly renovated Lady Lions locker room in Sisson Gymnasium. In addition to a new vanity area, showers, flooring, and sinks, new wood lockers provide sufficient locker space for each varsity and junior varsity female athlete. The entire space has been re-painted, the ceiling replaced, and air conditioning added. Our Lady Lions now have a space to be proud of, a space that will inspire them to give their best each time they compete. In addition, three of our current Lady Lions, Ellie Arnett, Katie Grace Short, and Rachel Hickman, painted original murals on each end of the locker room.
On Thursday, April 30, the Harding Cordova early childhood students presented “The Sights and Sounds of Memphis” as their spring program for 2015. Each class performed an action-packed song as they welcomed their visitors to Memphis via the Memphis bridge, showed them some excitement with the Memphis Red Birds, demonstrated the unique ducks of The Peabody Memphis, thrilled them with a Memphis Grizzles exhibition, introduced them to the one and only Elvis Presley of Memphis’s Graceland, and proudly displayed the wonderful Harding Lions. It was a sight to see!

Harding seniors will participate in National College Signing Day—a national initiative to encourage students to go to college—and to finish. Our seniors will be wearing shirts representing the colleges they will attend. They will also sign a mat for Mrs. Banker who hang the photo of the Class of 2015 in her office.
Friends, family, coaches, and teammates gathered Monday afternoon, April 27, as Christina Jackson signed a letter of intent to play volleyball for Christian Brothers University. During her career at Harding she successfully led the Lady Lions as their setter. Her senior year she had 153 digs and 361 assists, an average of 3.2 per set. “She has an incredible work ethic,” says head coach Alyssa Hall, “and she has been an incredible leader both on and off the court for Harding’s volleyball program.” Christina is excited to join the CBU Buccaneers.

On Thursday night, April 30, join us in the Sisson Gymnasium to see works from our amazing student artists. All students enrolled in visual arts classes from grades 8 through 12 will have artwork on display from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Enjoy live music and fantastic finger food as you stroll through the displays. Again this year, students have created ceramic pieces to be sold in our Cup of Cold Water fundraising event for The Pearl House in Ghana, West Africa.
