    Job Description

    • Reports to the Lower School Principal

    • Supports student growth and development through small group extensions, provides STEM instruction, and manages library inventory

    • Assists teachers in identification and response to students with academic needs by offering resources, assistance, and training to enable faculty to better meet the needs of all learners

    • Works to challenge high achievers in Lower School, supports our interventionists through analysis and preparation of data, and participates in Thrive department meetings

    • Teaches weekly STEM and library classes with K–2 classes (90 minutes total each day)

    Preferred Credentials, Training, and Experience

    • Previous teaching experience and a willingness to collaborate with teachers, staff, administration, and parents in order to uniquely challenge our highest achievers

    • Willingness to regularly direct small group instruction with students in grades K–5

    • Knowledge in up-to-date evidence-based research and practices, and proficiency in using psychoeducational reports and other documents to formulate effective educational planning

    • Flexibility to meet the changing needs of students and teachers

    • Ability to oversee K–12 library by managing inventory and checking out books

    Christian Depth and Commitment

    Demonstrated Christian engagement, both within the school at large and already evident in church ministry and servanthood

    • Ready to lead students, faculty/staff, and parents in deep faith, purity, and ethics discussions

    Deep commitment to the Bible and coherent grasp of the Gospel

    Harding Academy’s after school program is a wonderful way to make a positive difference in a child’s life. Our after-school program runs Monday–Friday, August 7, 2023–May 21, 2024, 2:50 p.m.–6:00 p.m. After School Counselors are responsible for supervising all activities within the assigned group of the after-school program from elementary to middle school students.

    Requirements

    – After School Counselors must be 18 years or older and pass a fingerprint background check.

    – Applicants must adhere to our mission and vision statement and always maintain our safety standards and practices.

    – Applicants must be responsible and dependable with a desire to work with and inspire children.

    General Duties

    – Supervise and ensure well-being of after school participants within assigned group

    – Assist with homework, implement and lead a variety of activities such as outdoor play, building, connection time, craft time, reading time, etc.

    – Always maintains highest level of safety and risk management

    Harding Summer Day Camp is May 28 to July 26, 2024. We will be closed Wednesday, June 19 for Juneteenth and the week of July 1 – 5 for the 4th of July holiday.

    We enjoy weekly field trips off campus with the students and each day is a theme day full of fun!

    – Summer Camp Counselors must be 18 years or older and pass a fingerprint background check.

    – Summer Camp Counselors will work 8 hours per day, Monday – Friday. Hours will vary depending on staff needs but will range from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., 9:00 a.m.– 5:00 p.m., or 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Desired working hours are not guaranteed but will be taken into consideration.

    – Summer Camp Counselors are responsible for ensuring the safety of students in assigned grade groups. In addition, counselors will play with and interact with students to create a fun experience.

    – Summer Camp Counselors will receive a free camp t-shirt, free lunch each Thursday and will enjoy all of our field trips with the students.
