• Nolan Stevens signs with Blue Mountain College

    Congratulations to Nolan Stevens (catcher) who has signed to play baseball with Blue Mountain College in Blue Mountain, MS.  Stevens batted .310 last year with 18 RBI. As a junior he was selected to the D2A West All District 1 Team, All Region Team, All Regional Tournament Team, and the Commercial Appeal’s All Shelby Metro Team.

  • Happy in Memphis 5k

    The Happy in Memphis 5k was a fabulous success! Over 560 registered for the race and record 348 runners completed the course on Saturday, November 8. The race began and ended on our beautiful Cherry Road campus. Participants enjoyed a new 5k course, certified by Start2Finish, which will took runners by notable Memphis landmarks such as:

    • Elvis’s house bought in 1956 with royalties from “Heartbreak Hotel”
    • Dixon Gallery and Gardens
    • Audubon Park
    • Memphis Botanic Gardens

    Runners dressed to reflect what made them Happy in Memphis:  Elvis, the University of Memphis Tigers, the Grizzlies, and more! Chip timing and race results were provided by Start 2 Finish. See race results at Racesonline.com.

    Congratulations to our cross country teams who placed 3rd (boys) and 7th (girls) at State. On the boys team, Christopher Galbreath and Clayton Sharp medaled – placed in the top 15. On the  girls team, Bailey Petrey and Alex Kelly both placed in the Top 25! Way to go! We are so proud of you. The All Southwest Honor Choir Concert will be held at Bellevue Baptist Church on Saturday, November 15 at 2 p.m.  Rehearsals will take place on Thursday and Friday, November 13 and 14 at the same location.

    Varsity volleyball head coach, Alyssa Copeland Hall (’06), was named West Tennessee Division II-A Volleyball Coach of the Year. This honor was bestowed on her by colleagues of area high school volleyball programs in our division. Alyssa is in her first year as head coach of the Lady Lions volleyball program at Harding Academy. Congratulations, Alyssa, we are very proud of you!
