Friday, February 6, 2015 – Memphis Mayor A C Wharton read to the student body at Harding White Station. These students, ages 2–grade 6 listened intently! Thanks you, Mayor Wharton, for spending the morning with our White Station students.
Congratulations to our 8th grade girls basketball team and head coach, Gabe Jauregui (How-de-gee) – they are the Shelby League Tournament Champions! They defeated Briarcrest Thursday, February 5, 33-19. Dria Ellis and Jacaila Davis made the All Tournament Team and Hadley Horner was named MVP of the tournament.
Congratulations to Zach Riedel who was named a Commercial Appeal Academic All Star in general scholarship (Sunday, February 1). See Lions in the News.
Alyssa Hale: county champion (first place) in the 100 butterfly and the 100 breaststroke. She also set a new Shelby County record in the 100 breaststroke.
James Townsdin: county champion (first place) in the 50 breaststroke and the 100 breaststroke. He also set new Shelby County records in both the 50 breaststroke and the 100 breaststroke.
Congratulations to three Harding students who will compete in the Memphis/Mid-South Spelling Bee on February 7.

Congratulations to freshman, Christian Smith, for making it to the State Bowling Tournament for the second year in a row. Chris qualified for State finishing 6th out of the top 8 bowlers with a 35 game average of 200.82 and a total of 7,029 pins. The state bowling tournament will be held in Smyrna, TN from Thursday, January 22 through Saturday, January 24. Chris, we are so proud of you and the way you represent Harding Academy. We wish you the best at State!
Harding Academy was pleased to honor alumna Kaylah Keys with the retirement of her #22 jersey. Kaylah is a member of the class of 2013. She holds that all-time scoring record for both men and women – 2,538.
Congratulations to Will Lawrence who was recently named to the the 2014 MaxPreps freshman All-Star Team!
