On Monday, August 17, our lower school campuses started school with a Launch Party!
This summer is an exciting time at Harding Academy! Since breaking ground in May, we have made great progress toward re-imagining and re-inventing the outdoor venues on our Cherry Road campus where so many members of the Harding family and visitors to our campus gather each year.
The excavation work is now complete and the installation of synthetic turf has begun on Harding Academy’s stadium field. We are currently set to finish ahead of schedule. When completed, the new playing surface will allow us to practice multiple teams, as well as host football games, soccer matches, and track and field events for both upper and lower school teams on our stadium field, even when the field is wet.
Fundraising is ongoing to finish the stadium field, complete the renovation of our baseball and tennis venues, make improvements to the softball field, and significantly increase our campus wide water management capacity. We have raised over 1.1 million dollars to toward the Steadfast projects and need your help to meet our goal.
Please give generously to help us finish strong!
The Cherry Road campus was energized as Harding families enjoyed a night of reconnecting, shopping, eating, cheering, celebrating, and more! Not only was the Back-to-School Bash awesome event, it was the BEST way to kick off another memorable year at Harding. Here’s a sample of what happened:
Join us on Thursday, August 27, as we celebrate the longstanding tradition of Harding volleyball. The night will begin with a pregame reception in Sisson Gym at 5:00 to visit with former teammates, followed by an exciting game as our Lady Lions take on former state champions St. Agnes Academy at 6:00. All alumnae in attendance will be presented a special gift and recognized before the varsity game at 6:00. We welcome everyone to stay afterwards to meet coaches, players, and parents. For more information, email Lisa Knox Greer (’82).
We do need to know you are coming! Please take a moment and RSVP at
The Harding Alumni Basketball League finishes another fun season! If you are interested in participating in the 2016 season, please contact Lisa Greer, director of alumni relations.
Congratulations to Harding parent, Lauren McHugh Robinson, who was named TN Restaurateur of the Year!
Harding Academy presents our 2015–2016 theatre season opening with The Adventures of Pinnochio. We’ve got some great plays and musicals planned for this year, and we can’t wait to see our students share with all of the greater Memphis area the talents God gave them.
Coach Kabano and Coach Starks want to invite all of our soccer families – those with players from SK through grade 12 – to join us on Thursday evening, July 30, in the main lobby of the Cherry Road campus so that we can share with you why we are excited about the future of Harding Academy’s soccer program. Light refreshments will be served in the lobby beginning at 5:15 and we will move into the auditorium soon after 5:30 for the meeting.
Harding lower school families reconnect for summer fun at My Big Back Yard as part of the Party in the Park hosted by the admissions office! An outdoor adventure and ice-cold popsicles made for a great summer play day in Memphis. In just a few weeks, we’ll all be back together for a new school year!
The Class of 2021 takes the Cherry Road campus by storm this past week as they were introduced to the wonderful world of seventh grade! Thanks to a team of seventh grade sponsors, division leaders, administrators, alumni, and student counselors for helping them make awesome memories!
This past week at UCA Cheer Camp, Harding’s varsity cheerleaders placed 1st in their cheer division, 3rd in their dance division, and 5th overall out of 22 teams. They are extremely excited to share their new routines and game day activities with the Lion family in August.
