On Thursday night, April 30, join us in the Sisson Gymnasium to see works from our amazing student artists. All students enrolled in visual arts classes from grades 8 through 12 will have artwork on display from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Enjoy live music and fantastic finger food as you stroll through the displays. Again this year, students have created ceramic pieces to be sold in our Cup of Cold Water fundraising event for The Pearl House in Ghana, West Africa. Make plans now to attend and support the arts at Harding Academy! Read more about the Pearl House.

Congratulations to Harding’s STUNT team for an excellent showing at the first ever exhibition game. STUNT, the new competitive team sport derived from cheerleading, had its Tennessee debut Monday, April 20, 2015, right here in Shelby County, at Briarcrest Christian School. The Harding Academy STUNT team competed head-to-head with the Briarcrest STUNT team in an exciting, one-hour game format. Thanks to all the Harding families who came out to support the team!
We are proud to recognize Dale (’84) and Kim Story (’86) Sharp with our 2015 Distinguished Alumnus award.
We are proud to announce that our 2015 Esprit de Corps award recipient is Mrs. Marilyn Dempsey. Mrs. Dempsey has been a supporter of Harding Academy for over 30 years. While her four children were students in the 80’s and early 90’s, she was one of the most active mothers in the Cherry Road Parents Club and was instrumental in orchestrating the Bargain Bonanza fundraiser in the mid 80’s. Even after her children graduated, Mrs. Dempsey continued her support of Harding Academy.
Congratulations to Harding lower school music teacher, Mrs. Patsy Lane. She received the “Citizenship Education Teacher Award Grades K-5” from the Department of Tennessee, Veterans of Foreign Wars. The annual recognition ceremony took place on February 14 in Nashville, Tennessee. Congratulations also to Harding Cordova fifth grader, Camille Carter, for receiving the Patriots Pen Award for her essay using the 2014 theme, “Why I Appreciate America’s Veterans.” We are so proud of you!
Congratulations to these students for qualifying through audition for All State Band and All State Chorus – as members and alternates.
