Students “Carry the Cross” during Easter Week

Last week some of our middle and upper school students took part in “Carrying The Cross.” We use this activity every year during Easter week to highlight the significance of what Jesus has done for us. It is estimated that the cross bar Jesus carried weighed 95–135 pounds, and the final route he traveled was 650 yards. We ask our students to take a 650-yard walk with an implement and to use that time in prayer, in song, and in thought to reflect upon what this time of the year means to them.
