Senior Celebration Day
On Friday, May 8, Harding seniors were invited to the Cherry Road campus to celebrate the end of their senior year. They lined their cars on Cherry Road to drive onto the campus in a parade of sorts to cheering faculty and staff members. After all the cars were lined up in the parking area in front of the school, Mr. Trent Williamson welcomed them, class president Jordan Clay led them in their senior verse, and senior members of a cappella sang the “The Lord Bless You and Keep You.” Shield editor Brooke Kenworthy presented Mr. Williamson with the first 2020 Shield. Then Brooke and members of the Shield staff, Jackson Davis, Catherine Vo, and Mary Paige Rowsey presented Shield Salutes to Jane Morgan, Laura Hawley, Debbie Powell, and Roger Ferrell. Mr. Paul Fisher was acknowledged with a special Shield Salute. The presentations of Mr. and Miss Harding were next on the agenda. Jackson announced Jordan Clay as Mr. Harding, and Mary Paige announced Brooke Kenworthy as Miss Harding. At the end of the ceremony the seniors were given their yearbooks as they left the campus.
