AP Physics Students Set Sail In Their Cardboard Boats

Last Friday our AP Physics 1 and 2 students took to the sea (or pool) in cardboard boats! The students broke into teams and were tasked with building a boat that could carry a team member across the entire length of the pool. The boats could be built from only two sheets of cardboard and packing tape. Three boats made it across the entire pool, two boats sank, and one boat was able to hold two boys for a total of 250 pounds. Mrs. Heaton had students take on this project so they could see physics concepts in action and understand how all of those concepts work together. #hardingstrong
