Alumna Lauren Deaton (’18) Named SoCon Player of the Year

Junior Lauren Deaton (‘18) is Southern Conference Player of the Year! She was also named to the All-SoCon First Team.
”Deaton currently leads the SoCon ranks eighth in the nation in kills per set at 4.64. She also leads the league and ranks 23rd in the nation in total kills at 297. She posted 10 double-doubles during the month. Her best match came against Western Carolina when she had 32 kills and 20 digs.”
On April 3 Samford volleyball won its third straight SoCon Tournament title and secured its spot in the #NCAAVB tournament! Lauren was named to the All-SoCon Tournament team and the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player. The Bulldogs will face Wright State in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament April 14.
