2018 Valedictorian and Salutatorian

Congratulations to our 2018 valedictorian, Avery Efaw and salutatorian, Noah Robison.

The distinctions of valedictorian and salutatorian are based on students’ seven-semester grade point averages, with the valedictorian holding the highest GPA and the salutatorian, the second highest. This year’s valedictorian and salutatorian are both life-long Harding students.



Valedictorian–Avery Efaw

Avery Efaw began her schooling at Harding at two years old. Throughout her sixteen years here, Avery has excelled in honors, advanced placement, and dual enrollment classes, in addition to being strongly connected in the Senior Wind Ensemble and her youth group at church.

Avery has received multiple awards, including straight A’s every year (7-11), AP Spanish (11), and the faculty award for outstanding character (9). Avery has also been a member of a number of honor societies: Beta Club, 30+ Club, National Science Honor Society, National English Honor Society, and Rho Kappa.

Avery served as the vice president of the Senior Wind Ensemble in eleventh grade and secretary in twelfth grade. She has been selected by audition for the All West Tennessee Honor Band every year since eighth grade, and she played in the orchestra for many school musicals, including The Drowsy ChaperoneCinderellaSister Act, and Little Mermaid.

Culminating in being a student intern in the fall of her senior year, Avery has been active in her youth group throughout high school. She has been on mission trips to Florida and Rhode Island and served her community here in Memphis as well.

Salutatorian-Noah Robison

Noah Robison entered the Harding family 14 years ago in Junior Kindergarten, attending kindergarten and elementary school at the Cordova location. Since then he has worked to excel academically, socially, and spiritually as well as creatively and athletically.  

During high school, Noah has been a member of the National Honor Society, National Beta Club, 30+ Club, National English Honor Society, Rho Kappa, and Science National Honor Society. He is also a member of the Calculus Club and the Bible Club, being voted a leader his senior year.  He has won numerous academic awards, including straight-As in grades 8-10, and has been a participant in the state math competition.
 
Noah is active in member of the Woodland Hills Church of Christ youth group and volunteers for community service organizations. Through Harding, he participated in Jesus Loves Memphis and has been a member of multiple mission trip teams.

Interested in improving creatively, Noah has taken multiple art courses, participating in the Harding art show in 9 and 11 grades and winning an Honorable Mention award last year for drawing. Noah was also a crucial member of the varsity bowling team during his junior and senior years.
