Lauren Deaton selected for 2017 all–metro volleyball team

Congratulations to senior Lauren Deaton. She was selected for the 2017 Commercial Appeal all–metro volleyball first team. Lauren is also a nominee for volleyball player of the year.

Why chosen: A four-year starter, Deaton led her team to a 145-48 record in that span (45-0 in district and region play), four trips to state and three straight runner-up finishes. She finished her career with 2,138 kills, which ranks sixth all-time in Tennessee.

The player of the year will be announced at the Sports Awards, which takes place June 5 at the Orpheum.

TSWA announced their 2017 all-state prep volleyball team on December 31 and Lauren was on the team for the 2nd year in a row.

Lauren was also on the Under Armour and Phenom Watch Lists in August.
