Michael Sansone named head volleyball coach
Harding Academy athletic director Kevin Starks is pleased to announce that Coach Michael Sansone has been hired as the head volleyball coach for Harding Academy. Sansone has worked with the program for some time, most recently under current coach, Alyssa Hall, who is moving to Nashville.
Coach Sansone said, “I am humbled and honored to be the next coach at Harding. I am very excited about the future of Harding and the volleyball program, and I would like to ask everyone to please pray for our young women and the program.”
Michael Sansone began his coaching career in 1994 at Catholic High School as an assistant for Janet Daleke whom he calls “one of the best skills coaches around.” In 1999, he was one of the founding members of the competitive volleyball club, Delta Force Volleyball. He coached for Delta Force 1999–2013, while also serving as vice president and board member. He was actively involved with Houston Middle School and Houston High School’s junior varsity and varsity programs 2002–2008. He connected with Harding Academy in 2009 when he married Harding alumna and then junior varsity coach and assistant varsity coach Andrea Crum Sansone (class of 1989). He became an assistant varsity coach for Harding in 2014.
Michael is a native of Memphis. He is employed with Larry E. Crum & Associates, a Nationwide Insurance Agency. Michael and Andrea have two beautiful children, Noah (6) and Valla (19 months).
Coach Starks said, “Harding has always had a strong volleyball program, and I am pleased to have Coach Sansone on board to carry that winning tradition into the future. He is a coach who loves God, enjoys working with young people, and is passionate about volleyball. That’s a great combination.”
