Baseball team honors Bentley family

When Harding’s baseball team faced Munford High School on Friday, March 18, Qiera (11) and Keilani (7) Bentley threw out the first pitch in honor of their late father, Dr. Gerald Bentley.  Dr. Bentley was diagnosed with ALS in 2007 and passed away in September 2015. To help in the fight against ALS the team presented a $500 check for the ALS Association to Mrs. Tomika Bentley, Dr. Bentley’s wife. Dr. Bentley was known as a strong, courageous, compassionate, unselfish man with a great sense of humor. Harding Academy teachers have observed in his daughters those same qualities of quiet strength and courage that allowed them to persevere through the many years of their father’s failing health.
