Harding’s “Player of the Week” Highlights
April 14 | Harding Track: Calvin Austin had a terrific showing in last weekend’s Houston Classic, one of the largest events in the South. He won the 400 in a school- record time of 48.44 — the fastest time in the state this year in any classification. He also ran the anchor leg on the victorious 800-meter relay team, which was in last place before he got the baton.

March 31 | Harding Baseball: Harding pitching staff: If pitching wins championships, the Lions have a great chance to lift some hardware later this spring. The staff of Nathan Ruble, Jake Criswell, Evin Olds, Jacob Simmons and Noah Sharp led the team to five victories at least week’s Flag City Classic, combining for an 0.57 ERA. The most impressive performances were by Ruble, who allowed two hits and struck out 14 to shut out Millington, and Criswell, who blanked MHEA on two hits while fanning 13. On Tuesday, Criswell got the win against CBHS to tie the school’s career mark with 21.

February 4 | Harding Basketball: Antoinette Lewis junior, averaged a double-double for the week as Harding won three games to improve to 18-4 and climb to ninth in the Dandy Dozen.
1/26 vs. Lausanne: 14 points, 17 rebounds, 5 blocks (team wins)
1/28 vs. St. Mary’s: 15 points, 11 rebounds, 3 blocks (team wins)
1/29 vs. FACS: 22 points, 11 rebounds, 3 blocks (team wins)

September 17 | Harding Volleyball: Antoinette Lewis, junior, not only shows her athleticism on the basketball court, but dominates the volleyball court as well. She has been named Player of the Week in the Commercial Appeal for her outstanding play against Houston on Friday, September 11. The Lady Lions beat Houston on Houston’s home court in front of their entire student body during a pep rally. During that game Antoinette had 12 solo blocks, 4 block assists, and 12 kills. For the past several weeks, the Harding volleyball team has been ranked second in the Super Six. The Commercial Appeal article is on the Lions in the News page.
August 27 | Harding Volleyball: Lauren Deaton, sophomore, was named Player of the Week in the Commercial Appeal for the first week of the volleyball season. As an outside hitter, she has helped her team establish a 11-2 record in the first two weeks of the season, including finishing second in the Collierville tournament last weekend. Lauren had a total of 32 kills in the first three matches of the season. The Harding volleyball team is ranked third in the Volleyball Super Six. Harding defeated higher ranked Houston and Briarcrest at the Collierville Tournament. This is going to be a fun season of Harding volleyball!
