2015 Distinguished Alumnus Award

We are proud to recognize Dale (’84) and Kim Story (’86) Sharp with our 2015 Distinguished Alumnus award.

Dale was an active student at Harding Academy. In high school, he served on the student council and ran track and cross country. His specialties were the 400m and 800m. He also anchored the two-mile relay team that won state in 1984.

While at Harding, Kim played volleyball, basketball, and softball and ran track. As a mother, she has been an active member in our Parent Clubs and has used her gifts as a nurse to care for children while she and Dale reared three great kids of their own.

Dale has been a loyal supporter of the Bonner Relays as well as our track and cross country teams, and he rarely misses a meet. Two of their children are Harding graduates – Mallory (’08) and Audrey (’12) – and their son Clayton is a junior. All three of their children have been successful runners at Harding Academy.

As president of Sharp, Robbins, and Popwell, LLC, Dale conducts business across 14 different states. He is well known in the restoration industry and put that expertise to use to help Harding recover from two flood losses this past year. Sharp, Robbins, and Popwell, LLC, is also a finalist in the Memphis Business Journal’s 35th annual Small Business Awards.
