IFA event: Jacob Matthews

On April 4 we welcomed back one of our own for the last Institute for Faith and the Arts event this school year.

Jacob Matthews (’12) shared his thoughts on how his faith impacts his art while inspiring the middle and upper school students to serve God by following their passions in life.

Jacob received his degree in Bible from Lipscomb University in 2016 and during that time he was inspired by a professor’s call for his students to best serve God by finding something that they are passionate about and do it well. So Jacob began taking pictures. By the end of college he was a self-taught photographer working for a non-profit organization in Kenya. Each summer he works to capture images of children rescued from homelessness.
