Cordova students learn how to LOVE YOUR HIVE!

On Thursday, February 22 alumni Nathan Bland (’99) and Kevin Woods (’00) gave a “honeybee” presentation to students on our Cordova campus. Nathan and Kevin are bee farmers and they’ve learned a lot about how bees influence our fruits and vegetables and why we need bees. They’ve started a non-profit organization called Bee 901 to benefit the Memphis community. Last fall their bees produced honey and they collected their first batch. They sold the first bottles on “Small Business Saturday” and sold out in a few hours. All the proceeds went to the King’s Daughters and Sons home in Bartlett. As Nathan spoke to students about bee farming he also shared how bees take care of each other and help each other.
Bee 901 is going out in the community and sharing their knowledge about bee farming and giving the Memphis community an encouraging lesson for us to take care and help each other. They want the 901 area to “Love Your Hive!”
