Harding’s Trap Team Competes at Regionals, State & Nationals



Cooper, Sam, Hayden, Joel, Michael, and Logan traveled to Marengo, Ohio for the National competition on July 17 and 18.

July 17 update: Good shooting today by Hayden Riley and Sam Karpicke who each shot 25 straight and Cooper Whitfield who shot 75 straight.

Congratulations to Cooper Whitfield who posted a 195 which landed him at 55th in men’s varsity (513 shooters) and a Top 100 finish overall (1523 shooters). 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

On July 2 Cooper, Sam, Kristen, Davis, Joel, Austin, Michael, Hayden, Braedon, and Hunter traveled to Nashville for the State competition.



  • Kristen Powell finished 3rd in Ladies

  • Braedon Sanders finished 2nd in Rookie

  • Sam Karpicke, Hunter McWilliams, Davis Lane and Hayden Riley finished 4th!

  • The team of Hayden Riley, Hunter McWilliams, Davis Lane, Austin Morse and Kristen Powell finished 2nd!

  • PR’s today for Hayden Riley (including a 75 straight!), Kristen Powell and Braedon Sanders!

  • 2nd place team finish with scores from Hayden Riley, Hunter McWilliams, Davis Lane, Austin Mores and Kristen Powell.

  • 4th place squad finish with scores from Cooper Whitfield, Sam Karpicke, Hunter McWilliams, Davis Lane and Hayden Riley. This squad also shot a perfect box of 125 during their round.

  • Kristen Powell finished 3rd in ladies division.

  • Braedon Sanders finished 2nd in rookie division.

Congratulations to Cooper Whitfield who was named to the Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation 2020 All-Scholastic Team. These athletes are recognized for achievements in the classroom, on the range and in their communities.

On June 18 the trap team competed in Regionals.

  • The varsity team of Cooper Whitfield, Hunter McWilliams, Sam Karpicke, Austin Morse, Davis Lane finished 5th in the region.

  • The varsity squad of Cooper Whitfield, Sam Karpicke, Hunter McWilliams, Davis Lane, and Hayden Riley finished 5th in the region.

  • The JV team of Michael Montgomery and Logan Frost finished 12th in the region.

  • The Rookie Team of Braedon Sanders finished 4th in the region.

  • Cooper Whitfield finished 20th, Hunter McWilliams finished 21st, Sam Karpicke finished 24th in Varsity Men Individual.

  • Michael Montgomery finished 24th in JV Men Individual.

  • Kristen Powell finished 16th in Varsity Women Individual.

  • Newcomer Braedon Sanders finished 1st in Rookie Men Individual!
