Students Ace History Day

These 8th grade students make
quick study of the History Day competition!



This past weekend at the University of Memphis, over forty of Mr. Frizzell’s 8th grade history students competed at West Tennessee History Day against other area schools. National History Day is a nationwide contest the encourages students to study history and present their findings in creative ways. At the contest, four groups qualified for the state level competition and will continue their quest to nationals. Harding showed particularly well in the Documentary and Performance categories. The following groups placed top three in West Tennessee and advanced to State.

Third Place:
In Documentary, Jamisen Cobb, LaNea Wallace, and Taylore Williams placed third with their documentary on Sally Ride and Naomi Carter, Griffin Childers, Maggie Conlee, and Collin Threatt placed third for their documentary on Nicolas Tesla.

In the Performance category, Harding took first and second place.

Second Place:
Mollie Arnett, Caitlin Crouse, Mariyah Jones, Baytes-Gabriel Jordan, and Kimari Terrell took second with their performance on Elvis

First Place:
Preston Cates, Dylan Cochran, Audra Luttrell, and Lizzie Wooten took first place with their performance on Lily Pulitzer.
