Scott Guidry
Scott and his wife, Tanya, have one daughter, Sara (’23). Scott grew up in rural Louisiana where the simplicity of small-town life taught him the true meaning of community. They are members of the Park Avenue Church of Christ.
Scott is the founder and principal of designshop architecture. He loves to dream big while supporting the dreams of others to create places and spaces that otherwise would not exist. The key component to any of his projects is a desire to bring people together. In his free time, he enjoys creating custom furniture pieces and indulging his passion for automobile design. Some of his favorite hobbies are going to the Orpheum, the FedEx Forum, catching a U of M women’s soccer game or cooking Cajun-fare with plenty to share.
Scott’s favorite thing about Harding is how the school community pours into their students. His family joined Harding in 2010 when their daughter Sara entered kindergarten. Through theatrical performances, art shows, and sports offerings, Sara developed into the best version of herself. She was carefully nurtured by many teachers, fellow students, and parents. Scott says, “Harding Academy is far more than a place of learning. It’s a place that defines behavior and extracts strengths in people to help build up a better today and tomorrow.”
