Harding’s Varsity Cheer Team Excels at UCA Camp
This past week at UCA cheer camp, our Harding Varsity cheerleaders began to prepare for their school and competition season. They placed 1st in their cheer division, 3rd in their dance division, and 5th overall out of 22 teams. They are extremely excited to share their new routines and game day activities with the Lion family in August. We hope to see you all at Back to School bash to get our season started off strong!
While at camp, high school hopefuls try out with jumps, a cheer, and a dance to make the All-American Cheerleading Team. Senior Kalan Settles and junior Carson Arnett tried out and made the All-American team this past week at UT Martin. Their placement on this team qualifies them to showcase their talent at the Macy’s Day Parade in New York and in Orlando and London. We are so proud of their hard work!
Each week during camp, UCA staff members watch for girls that are leading by example, remaining cheerful, and being positive, kind, and respectful not only to their teammates but also to the hundreds of other girls at camp and UCA staff members. They reward this girl with the Pin-it Forward award. This year Harding senior Shelley Stafford received this honor and was then tasked with the opportunity to find another girl at camp who exemplified these same qualities. We are so proud of Shelley’s attitude, leadership, and example.
