Daily Memphian High School Honor Roll

Here is this week’s Daily Memphian high school honor roll, spotlighting the top prep performers for the week ending Tuesday, March 23.

Track and field

Jamal Mitchell, Harding: Mitchell is marking himself as a serious state title contender in the discus. At the Bonner Relays on March 19, the senior had a winning throw of 145-6, nearly 11 feet farther than runner-up Lawson Ewing of Briarcrest. After the first week of meets, Mitchell’s performance is the best in Tennessee.

Jaxon Toney and Emily Patterson, Harding: Toney and Patterson were among the standouts at the Bonner Relays on March 19. Toney, a junior, had first-place finishes in the long jump (19-6.5), triple jump (39-9.5) and high jump (5-10) while also running a leg on the 440-meter shuttle hurdle relay team that placed second.

Patterson was first in the long jump (14-9), second in the triple jump (31- 11.5) and fourth in the high jump (4-8). She also anchored the 400-meter shuttle relay team that came from 20 meters back to win.
