Art to Grow visits our lower school Visual Arts classes

Our lower school Visual Arts classes were treated to some awesome lessons by instructors from Art to Grow at Dixon Gallery and Gardens this week. The instructors were Danielle Sumler and Christan Allen and the lessons were on still life paintings inspired by artworks from the gallery’s permanent collection. The older students created their own still life sushi sculptures and the younger students created a low relief sculpture of a pizza slice. They really enjoyed adding unique toppings for a fun and colorful work of art. Thank you to lower school art teacher Bridget Cornelius for bringing this experience to our students.
