Kevin Starks Named A.D. of the Year

Congratulations to Coach Kevin Starks (’93) for being selected as the A. F. Bridges Athletic Director of the Year for TSSAA athletic district 9. This award is given for displaying the high ideals of integrity and ethics as well as exemplifying good citizenship and sportsmanship.

Coach Starks is in his 11th year as the athletic director and varsity boys basketball head coach at Harding Academy and has served as the school’s executive vice president for the past two years. During the past ten years, Starks has coached his team to five state tournament appearances and back-to-back state championship titles in 2008 and 2009. Starks was named the 2012 Coach of the Year by the National Christian School Association (NCSA) and was named the 2008 and 2012 Coach of the Year by the Basketball Coaches Association of Tennessee (BCAT).  

 This award comes as no surprise to his Harding family as he is guided by his strong coaching philosophy — to honor God throughout all aspects of the game by focusing on love, honor, teamwork, sacrifice, trust, and hard work.

Kevin is married to Becky Starks and they have two children
