Cherry Road Grades

Parents,
One of the side-effects of real-time access to grade data is that you can see partially calculated grades during the examination period. The Semester Average is a moving target until all of the examination grades have been entered, and should not be assumed to be accurate until after January 8.

Elementary Leap

Band Concert

Leap Band Santa Canterbury is at it again! Congratulations to the LEAP Elementary Band on their first concert. The audience was full of parents, family, alumni, administrators, and high school band students, as these 4th - 6th graders demonstrated what they had learned over the semester. Impressive solos, duets, and trios topped off their Christmas concert. High school band parents provided a wonderful reception.

Early Childhood Cherry Rd.

sings with "The Big Kids"

EC Sing A Long Assembly Cherry Road Early Childhood joined the Jr. High and High School for the Annual Sing-Along Tuesday morning. The class of 2009 directed the singing of Rudolph, Frosty, and all the favorites. The Early Childhood students sang Jingle Bells to the Cherry Rd. audience. The finale, as always, the very "aerobic" 12 Days of Christmas brought the fun to an end. With the cold outside and the Holiday singing inside, Christmas must be getting close. The Sing-Along was a great treat before the three days of midterms begin Wednesday.

A Cappella spreads

Christmas Cheer Downtown

EC Sing A Long Assembly You know the Christmas season is here when the A cappella makes their annual holiday trip to First Tennessee Bank and The Peabody hotel. The acoustics were wonderful! The bank employees and hotel guests thoroughly enjoyed hearing the chorus under the direction of Dan Burdette. Selections included Carol of the Bells, Hallelujah Chorus, The First Noel, Mary Did You Know, In the First Light, and several other favorites, for about a 30-45 minute presentation at each location. Mr. Burdette got a fantastic surprise at the Peabody as Opera singer, Kathleen Battle, introduced herself to Dan and the group in between songs. She complimented their performance and their presentation of the Hallelujah Chorus. At the end of their time at the Peabody, a hotel guest said, "Now this is what Christmas is all about!"

Christmas Spirit Fills The

Auditorium during the

holiday band assembly

Holiday Assembly The Harding Academy Band, under the direction of "Santa Canterbury" or "Colby Claus", brought the holidays closer with an all too short concert and sing along. Joining in the festivities were the the visiting 4th,5th, and 6th grade classes from Harding Southwind and the 5th and 6th grades from Harding Cordova. Everyone enjoyed singing as "Santa Colby" really "lit up" the room with his energy and direction of Rudolph, White Christmas, Silver Bells and the "unforgetable" Sleigh Ride with students and Mr. Pritchard and Mrs. Holt playing "the book" as accompaniment. Following the assembly, Marlon Brown, stayed and spoke to the elementary students. The Bands will present their Holiday Concert Tuesday night, Dec. 16, at 6:30pm.
